Huge day of college basketball betting action on Saturday and the Oddsbay handicapping team has three strong picks locked and loaded! Oddsbay has you covered with the best free betting picks available anywhere in every sport on the board!
    OHIO STATE AT WISCONSIN--FEBRUARY 12, 2011 11:00 AM PACIFIC
Real tough spot for the #1 team in the country who remains undefeated despite a couple of ho-hum efforts against Michigan and Northwestern. These games are significant as these opponents play the same deliberate, slow paced tempo as Wisconsin but there's one difference--the Badgers have a lot more talent. Wisconsin is 18-5 SU and they've been exceptional at home going 9-0 SU/7-2 ATS. Buckeyes just 5-6 ATS in Big 10 play and have failed to cover 5 of their last 8 against opponents with winning records. As noted above, they really don't like downtempo play and are just 3-4 ATS against good defensive teams (defined as teams that allow fewer than 64 points per game). Wisconsin has won two straight in the series at home and is currently on a 8-3 SU run against the Buckeyes on their home floor. It's hard to go undefeated in college hoops and this looks like a very dangerous game for Ohio State. This is also a technical situation that has proven to be profitable in college hoops for a number of years--a lower ranked team favored over a higher ranked opponent.

    MISSISSIPPI AT ALABAMA--FEBRUARY 12, 2011 1:00 PM PACIFIC
Ole Miss is one of the most underrated teams in the SEC this year and we're getting great value on them playing on the road at Alabama. The Crimson Tide has overachieved so far this year--at least against the spread--and they're due for a 'correction'. Year after year its the same story at Alabama--they put a talented, athletic team on the court but often get beat by 'smarter' teams that can control tempo. Tough scheduling spot for Alabama as well as a potential letdown situation off a hard fought road loss at Vanderbilt on Thursday in front of the ESPN2 cameras. For a team that needs to 'uptempo' their opponents into submission that's a tough turnaround. Ole Miss is only 3-5 in the SEC but they're 15-8 overall and a classic 'bubble' team that needs a few more quality wins to lock up a NCAA tourney bid. Rebels have been a headache for a lot of good teams this year with a 11-5 ATS mark against opponents with winning records. They should certainly feel confident here as they beat 'bama twice last season. They've been money in the bank on the road for several seasons now--they're 6-1 ATS away from home this year and since 2008 are a remarkable 21-6 ATS in enemy gyms. We'll call for the outright upset but we're getting a nice margin for error if they fall short.

    KANSAS STATE AT COLORADO--FEBRUARY 12, 2011 6:00 PM PACIFIC
Simple but effective premise here--a bad road team playing at 5400 feet in Boulder, Colorado. High altitudes are brutal to deal with which is why the teams in the Intermountain West--both in the NBA and college--are usually so tough at home. Kansas State is a decent 16-8 overall but just 3-4 SU/1-6 ATS on the road. They're also just 4-5 SU/3-6 ATS against conference opponents. Buffaloes play an uptempo style that makes their 'high altitude' advantage at home even more pronounced. They're 12-2 SU this season (7-2 SU against 'board' opponents) and 6-3 ATS. They beat KSU by 8 on the road earlier this season but the Wildcats are 0-1 in revenge games this year and we just don't see them faring well in an already bad tactical matchup at a mile above sea level. Colorado is 15-10 and needs to get a few wins against 'quality' opponents in the books if they're to have any shot at an 'at large' NCAA bid. They should get one here.
